We were blown away by our experience in Atlanta at our 2019 National CASA Conference the first week in June! Over 3,000 CASA volunteers, staffers, and friends of CASA came together to celebrate and learn how we can support children and families. We had the opportunity to hear from such speakers as Patrice and James Comey, Ron Clark, Dr. Steve Perry, Senator Mary Landrieu, Jelani Freeman, and many others. The absolute highlight of the event was hearing the message from Bryan Stevenson of the Equal Justice Initiative. Mr. Stevenson, a civil rights lawyer who fights for those condemned to death row, impressed upon us that as CASA volunteers we have a unique and powerful capability to change a child's life. We return to New Mexico armed with the knowledge that we are part of a group of over 94,000 volunteers advocating for over 275,000 children in foster care in the U.S. and together we produced over 5.5 million volunteer hours in 2019!!! We truly are "Better Together"!
See how we’re making a difference in our community.
