CASA Partners 4NMKIDS offers advocacy to the foster children and youth in both Sandoval and Valencia Counties in New Mexico. Advocacy involves written and verbal reports submitted to the presiding judge with recommendations and any risk factors or concerns. Following the case from the beginning to the end allows the CASA volunteer to know the child’s needs and wants and to communicate these to the judge. The CASA becomes the one stable adult in the child’s life. Foster children are moved from home to home, caseworker to caseworker, and school to school during this traumatic time and only the CASA remains the same from start to finish.
Although advocacy is our primary role, CASA Partners 4NMKIDS provides additional services and items that help both the foster families and the children.
- We assist the families in filling out and submitting the New Mexico Compensation Documents to assure services can be received even after children are adopted or youth have aged out.
- We are able to provide Christmas gifts and stockings to all the children in care due to the generosity of our community donors.
- When there is a specific need, such as coats, shoes, a handicap ramp, educational items, etc., we step in and provide the needed items.
- We provide back to school clothes, backpacks, and school supplies to all the children in foster care in our communities, again, due to the incredible donations and grants received from local businesses, individuals, and foundations.
Where a need is identified for our foster children and youth, CASA Partners 4NMKIDs does all we can to fill it.
During this time of crisis, your gift will help us continue these extra services. We thank you for your support.
