Alternative Continuing Education Resources

CASA Volunteers commit to acquiring 12 hours of continuing education based on the annual fiscal year (July 1 until June 30).
-
CASA staff offers monthly in-service training to acquire these hours. However, there may be the need for alternative resources. CASA Volunteers may choose up to 4 hours of alternative CE credits from the following list.

Your assigned Advocate Supervisor can assist you with choosing appropriate content due to educational requirements, and in most cases we can provide you with the necessary materials. Please notify your assigned Advocate Supervisor or prior to selecting / engaging with alternative content.

Professionals who engage in relevant continuing education through the course of their employment may submit certificates of completion to CASA staff to satisfy necessary hours. Please notify your assigned Advocate Supervisor in this event.

Final authorization of alternative continuing education hours lies with CASA staff.
Books
Volunteers will submit a 2-3 paragraph discussion of how the subject applies to CASA advocacy and/or a specific writing prompt given by the Volunteer Coordinator.
Volunteers will acquire 2 hours for reading and written discussion.
